These small paintings of a single pink flower on a turquoise background is a quiet tribute to Claude Monet, whose work has inspired me since childhood. Although the flower is simple and not a lily, when painting I was thinking of Monet’s The Water-Lily Pond (1899), my favourite painting at the National Gallery in London. Named ‘Special Rose’ as I love the music of Van Morrison and often listen to his music whilst painting.
About Alice
Alice Blue is a contemporary abstract artist based in Brisbane, Queensland, specialising in intuitive and emotive artworks inspired by nature, childhood creativity, and holistic wellbeing.
Raised in London, Alice’s early life was filled with artistic experiences — from drawing around the kitchen table to visiting galleries, gardens, and exhibitions. These formative experiences continue to influence her artistic expression today. Now living in Brisbane, Alice creates and sells original abstract paintings that are soulful, free-spirited, and deeply expressive. Her journey into intuitive painting was shaped by a belief in the emotional and therapeutic value of art.
This philosophy led her to complete a Diploma in Art Therapy, and she now facilitates creative art workshops for adults focused on wellbeing through artistic exploration. Inspired by the natural beauty of Moreton Bay, Brisbane’s coastal landscapes, and her experience as an early childhood art educator, Alice’s work is known for its vibrant colour palettes, spontaneity, and emotional depth.
In addition to original artwork sales, Alice also offers art for licensing and was recently awarded a prize at the Royal Queensland Art Society’s 'Materially Designed' Exhibition.
