Painting the iconic old collection of boats in Wynnum Creek. They seem to be old friends, quietly nestling together, experiencing the light, shadow, and reflections shift across an unhurried day. There’s a gentle joy in simply pausing to take in this little corner of the universe. Breathing in and out with the tides as they ebb and flow – relaxed and in step with nature’s rhythm.  

Megan Forward is a Brisbane-based artist, author, and children’s book illustrator whose work celebrates the beauty and interconnectedness of the natural world. Blending watercolour, gouache, collage, and drawing, she creates layered, whimsical pieces that evoke serenity and invite viewers to bring nature indoors. Twice shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council of Australia Awards, Megan draws inspiration from observing light, patterns, and the relationships between flora, fauna, and humans. A graduate of the Queensland College of Art, her works are held in private and public collections in Australia and the UK. She is an active member of the Australian Society of Authors, SCBWI, and Booklinks.
